Jacob S. Mattis
Jacob Mattis earned his Bachelor
of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001, and
both his Doctor of Jurisprudence and Master of Laws from the University of Houston
Law Center.
Mr. Mattis' intellectual property
experience has focused primarily on the areas of preparing and prosecuting U.S.
and foreign applications for patent, including applications relating to oil and
gas apparatus, chemical compositions, medical devices, and both simple and
complex mechanical inventions. In addition, Mr. Mattis performs validity and
patentability searches, renders formal opinions for patentability,
infringement and freedom-to-operate, prepares and prosecutes trademark
applications, pursues copyright registrations, and prepares licensing and
manufacturing, non-disclosure, and joint development agreements. Mr. Mattis' litigation experience focuses primarily
on analysis and argument preparation relating to infringement and validity of
patents-in-suit.
